What is individual pet cremation, and how does it differ from private or group cremation?
Individual pet cremation allows pets to be cremated within a shared chamber while keeping their ashes separated from others. Unlike private cremation, where each pet is cremated alone. This method allows families to receive their pet’s remains while staying affordable, because it doesn't cost as much as private cremation. Communal cremation doesn’t separate your pet's ashes from other animals that are cremated at the same time, and the ashes are not returned.
Do you offer individual cremation services for both dogs and cats in Kentuckiana?
We ensure a respectful farewell for dogs and cats at Faithful Companions in Kentuckiana, including the option of individual pet cremation services. Each pet is cremated separately, preventing any mixing of remains. Families receive their cat or dog cremation remains in a transfer container or can select a memorial urn or keepsake to honor the memory of their pet.
Are urns included in the price of pet cremation?
Faithful Companions sells a variety of urns for pet owners to choose from to place ashes in after their pet is cremated. Urns are not included in the price of our cremation service but are sold separately.

Some of our Faithful Companions urns and burial containers can be personalized with custom engraving.
How long does individual pet cremation take from start to finish?
Individual pet cremation usually takes a few hours. Typically, the actual cremation lasts between 30 minutes and 2 hours. The size of the animal and the specific cremation facility may determine the duration of the process. Additional steps, like preparation, cooling, and final handling, might lengthen the overall processing time to 24 to 48 hours. Some facilities might adjust their timeline based on demand or the specific services they offer. Expedited cremation services are offered at some cremation providers for an additional fee.

We utilize high-quality, separate individual containers (pans) within the shared cremation chamber.

Can I request paw print keepsakes even if I choose the individual cremation option?
Yes, you can easily customize your individual cremation package to include a lasting physical memory. Before the cremation takes place, we can capture up to 3 clay paw prints or 2 ink paw prints for a small additional fee. Free fur clippings are also available upon request.
Does the size of my dog affect the individual cremation package process?
The fundamental process of careful separation remains exactly the same; however, there is a slight pricing difference for larger dogs. For dogs weighing over 50 lbs, there is a minor $20 additional fee to accommodate the extra space and time required in the cremation chamber.
