How the Pet Cremation Process Works for Kentucky Families
At Faithful Companions, we understand that families across Kentucky seek us out for our 24-hour turnaround and guaranteed tracking system. Here is how we coordinate care based on your location:
1. Bringing Your Pet Into Our Care
Within 25 Miles of Jeffersonville: If you are in the Louisville metro area, New Albany, or Clarksville, we offer professional home pickup. Simply call us at 812-283-7387 and we will be dispatched to your residence.
Outside 25 Miles (Elizabethtown, Nicholasville, etc.): For families outside our immediate pickup range, you can still choose Faithful Companions. You may bring your pet directly to our facility, or you can request that your local veterinarian coordinate a transfer into our care.
2. Secure ID Tracking System Once your pet arrives, they are assigned a unique stainless steel ID tag. This tag stays with your pet throughout the entire journey—from intake to the cremation chamber—guaranteeing that the remains you receive are 100% those of your cherished companion.
3. Swift, 24-Hour Cremation Unlike many providers who utilize "batch" pickups and can take over a week to return remains, we prioritize speed. Most cremations are completed within 24 to 48 hours, allowing you to bring your pet back home where they belong as quickly as possible.
4. Choosing Your Service Level
Private: Your pet is the only one in the chamber.
Individual: Your pet is in a partitioned space to ensure zero commingling.
Communal: A respectful option where ashes are scattered on our private local farm.
5. Returning Your Companion Home When your pet is ready, we will notify you immediately. You can pick up the remains and your chosen memorial at our Jeffersonville office, or we can coordinate a return to your local veterinary clinic for your convenience.
FAQs
-
When your beloved pet passes away, Faithful Companions pet cremation in Kentucky provides several ways to honor their memory. Our cremation options include individual pet cremation, where your pet shares a chamber with others, but their ashes are kept separately and then returned to you. Our communal cremation selection is a shared process where pets are cremated together, and we respectfully scatter the combined ashes on a local Kentucky farm. We also offer private pet cremation, ensuring your pet is cremated alone, so you can keep their ashes in a meaningful urn and honor them in your own way.
-
If you choose either our individual or private pet cremation option, your pet’s ashes will be returned to you. To ensure our clients have peace of mind, we follow a meticulous identification process so you can be confident the ashes you receive belong to your beloved pet.
-
Your beloved pet’s ashes will typically be returned to you in approximately 48 hours. Customers who have selected a special custom urn may have a wait time until it arrives of 5 to 8 business days.

Our facility has a comfortable waiting room where families can say their goodbyes. However, our pet crematorium runs constantly because we perform 12,000 pet cremations each year, and that means we can’t easily schedule family visits during the process. In other words, we normally do not offer this as an option but feel free to ask and we will see what we can do.
